Brutus Malada is a renowned South African public intellectual, political strategist, and education advocate whose voice resonates across media platforms, academic institutions, and policy circles. With over two decades of experience in governance, education, and international relations, Brutus is not only the visionary behind our organization but also a leading commentator shaping national discourse.
Brutus’s journey began in Venda, where his early exposure to the socio-political realities of apartheid ignited a lifelong commitment to justice and education. He holds a Master’s in Education from the University of Johannesburg and has served in influential roles at UNESCO, the European Union Delegation to South Africa, and the National Research Foundation. His work has consistently focused on empowering youth, reforming education, and promoting democratic values.
At the University of the Western Cape, he was a strategic advisor and speechwriter to the Vice-Chancellor during the height of the #FeesMustFall movement, helping shape responses to one of South Africa’s most pivotal student-led protests.
